Dissociative Identity Disorder
DID is a rare and often misunderstood condition that develops to protect us from trauma.
We can become disconnected from our sense of self through dissociation and our identity becomes fractured in an attempt to cope
People living with Dissociative Disorders and DID experience problems with memory and struggle to be believed with many professionals dismissing it as made up fantasy.
We don’t follow the crowd and we are ready to help you. Our style of treating DID is rooted in internal family systems therapy, a non-judgemental technique to cultivate harmony and internal understanding.
Some individuals with DID desire to be integrated as a whole person, some do not. We will respect your choice and help you realize your treatment goals to aid you in living a better and happier life. With the proper help and understanding many individuals with DID live productive and happy lives. Click below to set up a consult call or feel free to email us.
Meet Euan
Euan founded Compassion Ontario in 2022 with the goal of helping individuals tackle their inner critic and learn how to work with themselves and live better lives. Euan has over 8 years of experience in the mental health field working at a mental health crisis line, in community agencies and in post secondary environments. He is continuously updating his base of knowledge with additional certification and learning to deliver the best service possible.
He excels at working with people who feel weighed down by self-criticism, perfectionism and the fear of being discovered a fraud. The goal of therapy sessions is to help you gain confidence, clarity and the ability to treat yourself kindly and push back against our inner critic. Through a mix of self-compassion exercises and analysis of self-criticism we’ll work together to move beyond emotional and life barriers to achieve your goals.
Euan practices a down-to-earth approach to therapy that is attentive, dedicated and not overly clinical or judgemental. One of his strongest qualities as a therapist is his trust in you, that no matter how difficult things are that you ultimately have the tools for success within you and we can discover them together.
If you are a new or returning client, you will receive dedicated attention, validation and problem solving skills so that this experience will be truly helpful for you. Years of experience in the the mental health field have taught the value of a trusted confidant, someone who can be there with you in the darkness until the sun rises.
